Pauline was rich, Twysden not so much. Hemingway took advantage of his wives wealth, to an extent, but he paid for his own boat and his Finca, he walked away from Pauline's fortune. You could criticize Gandhi and MLK for their behavior towards women as well, but I don't think it's fair. Relationships are complicated and private affairs between individuals, and you can't know the full extent of what is said between people. You are not getting his side. Even when you said Hemingway prevented Gellhorn from flying to Europe. This is a bias comment. He just did not help her. If she had the wherewithal, she could have flown first class. She was close friends with the First Lady. I appreciate your writing though, nonetheless

I don't know what Fromm said that you believe has been "proven" false, but I'm sure I wouldn't accept your explanation. Listen, in the end, the only thing that matters to me is what I believe to be true, based on my experience and reason. And if someone has conflicting convictions, to the point that I find their values in conflict with my well being, then eliminating that threat by any means necessary is perfectly acceptable. That is how life works, it is bigger than the human species, and I don't need to provide any references. Fuck it

I'm pretty sure males theoretically evolved to be bigger than females through sexual selection. Less educated people go through life driven by instincts rather than reason. Society tells you in so many ways that bigger and stronger is more masculine. Because you have insecurities about your manhood, possibly from being cheated on, you seek out way to become more masculine. The kid from the Brady Bunch would hang from the swing set to try and grow taller. So many men dedicate a large amount of time in an endless quest for more mass (masculinity). It's called body dysmorphia. I never read about anyone in the history books because of their weight lifting ability

It is unfortunate that people are not taught about the greatest threat present in our environment, which is an economic system based on exploitation. All relationships are driven by antagonisms and self interests. All economic exchanges are opportunities to be exploited and should be analyzed like a move in a chess game with your life in the balance. Capitalism is organized crime. sucker born every minute

GSP was also one of the people who turned me on to gymnastics fitness training. I hope you are incorporating resistance work to maintain muscle mass as you experiment with different lifestyles. I'm sure you are familiar with the hazards of muscle wasting as we age, as well as the positive metabolic effects of continuous muscle stimulation. Try mastering a handstand, which is something I have been working on myself. It is very satisfying. I can even do several hand stand push ups. Pistol squats are another gem, and help fortify the knee joint for hiking and running.

Studs Terkel wrote a book called On Working which has several dozen job descriptions like this. It's called wage slavery, by the way. And while you are all submitting to be treated like animals, the rich are destroying the entire life support system of the planet. Capitalism is a degenerate way to organize society. And as violent and demented and despondent you all are, you never turn on your oppressors. You shoot each other while these rich assholes flaunt their luxury in your face. what a bunch of punks

I've read that, conservatively 75% of cancer is environmentally triggered. With environmental regulations being influenced by economic interests, there is no way to predict what toxic mayhem is being created in a corporate laboratory, to further perpetuate our unsustainable hyper consumption. The perpetual growth model of capitalism is malignant global pathology. As long as capitalism exists, rates of cancer will continue to increase. There is no surplus in nature.
